Sportbikes / HELP WITH CLEANING CARBURETOR ...
« on: March 11, 2010, 01:49:24 PM »
my motorcycles messing up with the bogging and turning off on idle its acting very dumb, it started out as just bogging at high rpm but then i noticed right when i start the bike it sounds nice and strong and starts up easily but then you can hear it running fine and then itll make a sound like if it wants to turn off, it makes that sound for about a sec and then it stays running fine... everyone is telling me its the carburetor but i dont know how to get it off and try cleaning it, i but some carb cleaner in the gas tank but came to realize that it ate through some Teflon tape connected to the gas tank and then i had a big gas leak, but thats all fixed now.. is there any way you can show me how to take the carb off and show me how to clean it or what exactly im looking for??

or is it even the carb thats the problem any advice would be helpful thanks....

Sportbikes / OK BIKE STILL BOGGS OUT! help
« on: January 10, 2010, 03:00:44 PM »
i know i posted a thread on this before but today i took my bike out for a spin around the block and i assume this is the 1st real time i sort of rode it, i most likely rode it for about 20 mins "TOPS" i was trying to keep my revs below 5k but some times i would go to about 6-7K i pumped some gas in her then as i was taking off the bike bogged like crazy so i eased off the gas and the motorcycle was still bogging at about 3k so this leads me to believe that there must be oil some were where it shouldnt be like maybe an air filter or something, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know or if some one can send pics of where the oil might be PLEASE! let me know i dont ride the motorcycle daily since i dont have a license yet and it is still below 50 miles

I cleaned out the filter is it like a smallish metal looking filter full of oil? Well i took one out like that and cleaned it out and realized that theres was lots of metal grains around the filer is looks like when u drill something metal amd those shavings come out i cleaned it all out with paper towels and q tips ... And i have a question about the air filter wheres that located? I want to replace it since i seen some one on here said they changed the filter to a uni filter where do i go about buying one ?

to clarify things the motorcycle has no warranties we bought it as is from a dealership its a 2006 gs250 and only had 2 miles when we took her home.... now i know you said not to mess with stuff but i seen on another thread to but a breather filter and i did -__- lol  its looks pretty cool as well and i test drove it with that and there was no bogging but i still knew that the too much oil was still a problem so mr.smart guy here (me) decided to try to drain some out through  this big plug looking thing on the left bottom side of the bike and as i was loosening it noting was coming out and then once the plug unlocked it shot right out since it has a spring right underneath it, all the oil spilled every where for about 10 mins i was super upset, instead of just letting out a little bit of oil i let it all out!  >:(  .... well after it took me about 30 mins to get the dumb plug back on i checked the oil eye glass thing and theres no oil now at all, so now i guess imma have to go to kragen and buy some oil, how much should i put into the bike and what kind of oil should i use it has 17 miles ....

after the oil all spilled out i have NOT started the bike...

Having problems , ive seen post on making a filter on some tube or what not but i really dont understand much is there anyone who can post pics on what i should do or give me step by step instructions

I also seen somewhere that the bogging comes from too much oil being on the bike, i check the dip stick but the dam thing is chrome and the oil is nearly transparent so i cant really see anything on the stick.. And also i check the eye sight glass towards the bottom of the motorcycle and when the bikes on the kickstand i see no oil in the eyesight , but when i hold the bike straight up the oil level rises past the full line

Im just confused?? The bike is new and after leaving it idle and on the bike starts the smell like something is burning what might it be? The bike has 14 miles

What should i do?? ???
