Sportbikes / Re: Is this bike commuter capable?
« on: November 19, 2008, 07:07:13 AM »
Well I've ridden mine quite a bit for the time that I had it...  It held up okay for about 3000 miles then I killed the engine...  It's been in he shop for a month now, two weeks of thinking they knew what was wrong and waiting on parts, then realizing that they were wrong and then waited 4 days to take it to another guy who would decide what was wrong and order his parts...  Now they are just replacing the engine and God willing I'll have my bike back soon.  I'm not sure if the bike is built well enough to maintain that kind of running all the time...  Mine dying could've been a fluke of some sort, but I'm going to start over with mine and my driving habit aren't going to change.  If I run it into the ground then I run it into the ground.  If it can't handle what wanna do then I'll grind it into dust...     Depending on how long you are willing to wait, I'll re-evaluate and re-test the bike and once I have more solid data on the bike I'll let you know.

Hope this helped in some way...

Zuki..........  That was silly....    :o   I wasn't going to mention it cause I thought it was an issue I was having from having my monkey put gas in it for me, but now I know I'm not the only one...  So Zuki, any suggestions???   :D

Lol Zuki, you should post that in the Law Dogs topic as well...  That's freakin funny...  I've know guys who've done the ballbearing trick and I've also known a guy who told me railroad spikes work really well.  He said just drop it beside the bike, it'll bounce up under their vehicle and it'd make such a noise that they'd stop...  But this same crazy bastard also told me about putting fledglings on the "danger" side of a shotgun shell the glueing a BB to the blasting cap...  He claimed this would make them stop too...  But this is that one SOB that swerves across two lanes of traffic to cut you off cause he thinks you're driving too fast.  He'll try to make you hit him and then grip at you for driving like an idiot like you did something wrong...  Thank GOD I never drove the same way to work as this f@cker...  I'd've killed him.  Not literally of course   ...  But we really would've had a bad time together...

Nice ones Zuki!!!

Well several years ago I liked to race too...

NOTE: I DO NOT CONDONE STREETRACING!!!  IT IS STUPID AND YOU COULD KILL YOURSELF AND WORSE OFF SOMEONE ELSE!!!

Well at that point in my life I had the inability to turn down a race...  Worse off I sought them out...  Well back in the day I used to have to drive 45 miles one way to work...  I was working the nightshift and on the way home one morning I ran into this guy running about 85-90ish.  I was driving my 2000 MR2 Spyder, all stock...  Well I tried like hell to push this guy into going faster, usually not a hard task.     OH SHYT!!!  I just knew he saw us going over 120mph, he had to of...  Going through my mind is, "What do I do, what do I do..."  Well the Firebird was still in the lead in the slow lane, so for Mr.PoPo to catch us both he had to hit the bird first.  Hitting me would've cost him the bird and you could tell he wanted us both.  So he's slowly passing me trying to get up to where he could flag us both and just as his front bumper passes mine I'm almost straight over from an exit...  Still in the middle lane...  Boom, I turn sharp and fly off the highway!  He hits his breaks, but there's no chance of making the exit with me since I did it at last second and he had just got a nose past me.    :D   No harm no foul...  If he hadn't been greedy and went for us both he could've easily thrown one of us under the jail.  If he had turned on his lights, I wouldn't have pulled that stunt, but I could easily say that I almost missed my exit...

Remember, doing crap like that is stupid and it'll get you in tons more trouble than it's worth.

So aggie, have you checked out any of my first list of bands???  I'm still hung up on 36 Crazyfists, but I'm mainly into their newest one, The Tide and It's Takers.  I don't like A Snow Capped Romance as much.  Also you should check out the Five Finger Death Punch.  An awesome band.  For some reason I think I might have heard the Theory of A Dead Man song, but I'll look into it to make sure.

And just a side note...  I personally run my bike in the reserve all the time.  I'm trusting the gas guage.  I did test my MPG first so that I could also monitor using my trip/odo.  If you run you bike in the normal tank you HAVE to occasionally switch to the reserve to clean out any built up trash.   That's why I run in the reserve.  It keeps a constant flow of fresh new gas runnning through my bike and in theory will avoid a trash build up.  Also, water is heavier than gas, if you get water in your tank, it'll sink to the bottom making the reserve gas bad.  So other than trash build up you'd have to watch for condensation build up causing bad gas in the reserve.   ;)

And if anyone believes I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me.

Alright aggie, in my opinion you should be able to get by with just doing the oil change, cleaning the oil screen and the air filter, and adjusting the chain.  Changing the spark plug wouldn't hurt either, but you might only need to check it.  Though, if yuo're still running the one that came in it, an after market one would probably be a good idea.  Many riders have noticed a huge improvement in performance by changing the plug.  If I left anything out, someone else please feel free to chime in.  Best of luck!

So trance is like techno...  I see...  I like soMe of it.  I've heard that song before, I found it on Amazon and previewed it cause I can't go to Youtube while at work...  I have the Killer Instincts soundtrack from the game.  It's similar to your type of music.  I used to rock out to it all the time!

The show it's on is Bleach and it's the Intro song 3.  It's by "High and Mighty Color" and the name of the song is "Ichirin no Hana"  and you can find it on Lime Wire, I did.  I think it's pretty kick ass...

Hey choy, what song and artist would you recommend to someone as one to open them up to it???  I'd like to look it up...

Hey aggie, you ever listen to any japanese rock, like the intro/exit music on anime???  I've got one song that's pretty cool that I'd recommend for experimentation...   :D

This is a thread for those nice run-ins with the man in blue.  This topic started to overrun the "All New Members Check In" thread, so I decided to start on deticated to those fun and not so fun incidents....

As I stated in the other thread, you have to remember that they can always bet the bigger a$$hole!

When I was younger, me, my brother and our girlfriends were riding around.  My brother's girlfriend (Dana) was driving and I was still young enough that I couldn't drive.  Well it was cold out, so we had our jackets piled up in the floorboard in the back...  Well the cop was giving everyone hell, being a dik...  And when he's interrogating everyone, he asks me ho old I am...  I had just had a birthday so I started to say one age and then corrected myself.  He comes back with "Don't you know how old you are boy?"...  I was a little punk, so when he asked his next question which was "Do you have anything under those jackets?".  I responded with a nice, "I don't know, Dana, do you keep and guns, drugs or maybe tanks under this crap..."  Of course I recieved a nice scolding look in the rearview and from the cop...  But it was all I could do that couldn't get me in trouble.   :D   I know it was just talking a little crap, but keep in mind, I wasn't even old enough to drive yet.  I considered it a small victory or revenge to his smart ass comment.

Poor aggieboi, if you get the ticket it means your hair isn't blonde enough and your chacha's are too small...   I grew up in a small town, less than 1000 people and had three city cops plus all the county and state boys that rolled through.  The town is a speed trap.  There are two roads that run through it and it only has one red light.  If you head to the next town up the road, they have less people and probably  around the same number of cops.   These cops will stop for anything and they always wanna search the car.  Doesn't matter who you are, there's too much drug traffic in that little town.  Don't get me wrong, I like cops as long as they're not raging peckerheads.  And I also understand that they are that way cause they put up with some of the shytiest people known to man.  That's enough to make anyone an a-hole.

One thing to remember when dealing with cops, they can always be the bigger a$$hole...

Well I don't know where Fort Hood is yet, but I'm sure I will...  I'm actually reserves, so that means most of the time I'll stay close to home unless I'm deployed.  Which should happen no later than 2010.  Yeah, they offer the safety course around here too, I was planning on taking it just haven't got around to it yet.  I think I'm going to hold off until I get back from AIT in Virginia.  I have to take the course to be able to ride my bike on the base...  So since I'm going to have to take it anyways, I might as well take it at the beginning to avoid being followed by the offipisser...  :D
