I just checked in to let the new members know a little about me.  They could learn some from reading all the topics, but that's a lot of reading...

I also did it cause I was bored... ;)

No worries mate...  I did it with the hopes of more action.  It did help us set our record high on users, but it didn't stimulate the forums like I had hoped.  Hopefully you have better luck.   :D

HELLO!!!!!   I'm 46, male, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.  I've been riding FOREVER..... it seems anyway.
Use to be a mechanic,30 years worth. I've bulit most every thing you can think of. Bikes, cars, motor homes, snowcats, snowmobiles. Prety much, if it's terran based, I'm into/have been into it.
As my Siginature shows, I'm a speed junky, so the little 250GS is a step down. I'll be doing afew things to it just to see what I can.
It's nice to find a forum for these. I belong to and contribute to many differant boards. Hope I can be a bennifit here too.

Well hello to you to Namikuz!  I'm sure you're going to be an awesome contributor, I've read all that you've posted thus far and you seem to know a great deal about the mechanical aspects of machines in general...  Glad to have you here and look forward to seeing what you've got to say.

Well aggieboi, I've got to get my bike back before I can really plan on any rallying...   I'm going to call and harass the guy tomorrow and see if he can't speed up this process any.

Hello to you Myth. It's nice to see an ACTIVE board for the 'lil 250GS. I've been to a few other Chineese bike boards and well.........YAWN!!!!! No activity for REAL bikes. Mostly scooters. (thats what my wife rides.)
I'm looking forward to getting my "Pak Mule" back. They have had now for 4 weeks. I bought it 08/31/08, picked up a week later and I've logged 1200+ miles in the really short time I had it in my possetion.
I'm going to have the license plate read "PakMule". I load it up pretty well sometimes. Light weight stuff, but piled higt.
Well I'll keep the forum updated on modds that work and well OOPPSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!  DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME stuff.
Nice to meet 'cha Myth. (Try spelling Namikuz backwards, I'm know as that elsewhere too, and a short story behind it.)

Nice...  Well at least you're not known as her X...  My wife/ex-wife/seperated...  Well she tells people she lives with her X...  I'd rather be known as the boyfriend.

I could tell people the story to my name, but when I have they always think there is something wrong with me.

that sucks about your bike myth, what are they doing to it or "have they told you". i know half the mechanics i take my car to dont bother to say anything to you before they do it,and now it doesnt run . thank god my dad left me his truck .hey quick question for you guys ,you ever teach your freinds girlfreind to ride on your bike and she forget there was a clutch and shift without it? well i did and so did she! now the back tire of the bike makes a dragging sounds,i cant quite distinguish if its coming from the rear wheel or the trannsmission! So myth your really thinking about riding on the ice????? i dont think im ready for that yet,and i think it might be kind of helpful to have my license just in case,so hopefully by the time january gets here ill get off my butt and go take that class ,i hope!

They're supposed to be changing out the seals...  That's all I know.  I've heard you can shift without the clutch, and I've done it a couple of times on accident.     I need to get mine too though.

And I am stupid enough to be serious about the ice...   I could hear the Captain now...  WTF WERE YOU THINKING SOLDIER!!!!  I'M GOING TO PT THE SHYT OUTTA YOU AS SOON AS YOU GET OUTTA THE HOSPITAL!!!  YOU'LL WISH YOU DIED IN THAT WRECK MAGGOT!!!    SO YOU GOT A BROKEN ARM?!  WHY DON'T YOU DROP AND GIVE ME 50 ON YOUR BAD ARM!!!

Funny....Sounds like my Sons Capt' too. (Marines)  He(my son) is a crew Chief of some enormous hellicopter.  His Capt' is 5'7" and 160#, My son  6'5" 215#. 32" waist, 48" chest. So he's in a bit of trouble at the moment. A scuffle broke out on the flight deck AND SOMEBODY knocked out the LT and Capt, Capt on accident and the Capt' relizes that too. Nobodys addmitting or telling, 'cept the LT. He's a wussy maggott, Can't start somethine and THEN cry rank....Sheezzzzz. Well my son is being charged with it and ofcourse, brought up on charges and possible Courtmarshall. Hope not, BUT it all comes down to the Capt'.
They sent my son to a shrink, and they are saying that he has NO empathy for his fellow human. Hmm, Well we'll see.
Ya just don't put your hands on someone that's been studing Choy Li Fut for most of his life (and then what the Marines teach you), Ya just DON'T!!!!
The LT is a little bigger than the Capt', and has Small dog syndrome. Story goes...LT grabbed my son and spun him around and well......Sorry Sir, let me help you to the ground......I mean up.....he he.  I've met the Capt and LT a couple of times. Capt' all right.
Babble, babble babble..... Any who....Hope you get the 250 back soon.  And as for the riding in the ICE.   NOOOOOOOOO. Not on the street with studded tires. Steel studs and asphalt and/or cement DO NOT make for lean angles that are survivable. 9 years in Detroit and trying it a few times...All I can say is OOUUCCHH!!!! That smarts!!!!!!! he he, But if you must, GET VIDEO!!!!!  YES VIDEO!!!!!!!!! (it's well worth the noteriaty<sp> you'll recieve)
Later.
Title: Re: All new members check in.
Post by: Myth on November 06, 2008, 06:12:24 AM
If I want video I'll have to invest in a recorder...  And then I'd have to mount it to the bike and hope it survives the crach.  :D   If my mechanic doesn't give me the bike back soon, I don't have to worry about it.

[quote="Namikuz(Marines) He(my son) is a crew Chief of some enormous hellicopter. They sent my son to a shrink, and they are saying that he has NO empathy for his fellow human. Hmm, Well we'll see.[/quote]

I should eventually be a crew chief on an enormous helicopter...  The CH-47 Chinook is what I'm going to be working on.  Marines not having empathy for their fellow humans...  Well there's a shocker!  Marines are trained to tear a person limb from limb, they're the toughest SOB's not in special forces.  At least in my opinion...  From what I've heard about their training, they kind of try to desensitize you.  A friend of my wife/ex says he was trained so that when he kicked in a door and went in a house and blasted the bad guy, take the very hot end of the barrel and put it in the bad guys eye...  If he moves shoot again...  No empathy....  Yeah, but swinging at someone with more rank...  not good...  Best wishes for your boy though, I hope the Capt' is sympathetic.

hey myth ,i just realized you were in the service! okay that makes finding where i live easier for you or it should! do you knopw where fort hood is? killeen is the city that overlaps with fort hood everything in killeen is by and for the soldier and for the most part this is a military town, theres a few of us "low-lifes" still left here that havent joined the service yet ,that are always here to cause trouble .me being one of them lol, we settle for jobs like oh umm say security guards or grill cooks at cracker barrel or somthin like that lol.killeen isnt to bad of a town but its way bigger than it was os say about  15 years ago,the population has just about doubled or tripled since i was a kid! oh and as far as that motorcycle license goes there places down here that for $160 or $190 [ i forget which ] you can take a motorcycle safety course, and with that , it cuts out you having to take the road test from D.P.S.! i lied and told my insurance i had already taken it so i got the discount any way,but i do wanna take it cause i hate driving around with cops behind me  [even thought my dad and uncle were cops for 26 + years lol]!
Title: Re: All new members check in.
Post by: Myth on November 07, 2008, 10:49:54 AM
Well I don't know where Fort Hood is yet, but I'm sure I will...  I'm actually reserves, so that means most of the time I'll stay close to home unless I'm deployed.  Which should happen no later than 2010.  Yeah, they offer the safety course around here too, I was planning on taking it just haven't got around to it yet.  I think I'm going to hold off until I get back from AIT in Virginia.  I have to take the course to be able to ride my bike on the base...  So since I'm going to have to take it anyways, I might as well take it at the beginning to avoid being followed by the offipisser...  :D

Post by: aggieboi254 on November 08, 2008, 09:44:18 AM
true the cops around here are pretty bad,i had one follow me the other day i think just becuase i was on a bike that looks fast .it was a school zone and i was doing 20 in a 20 my lights were on of course and it was probably about 1 or 2 oclock in the afternoon,he followed me for about 2 miles so close i couldnt even see his face in the mirror's. which really doesnt say much from hat i understand the mirrors are almost worthless on our bikes , but i can usually see at least the front of a car or somthing ! the crappy part of it is my dad was a police officer here in killeen for 27 years and his brother was a police officer for 33 years so i know all the old school cops around here that have been there forever! No ,to answer the question that probably just ran through your head, they dont let me off if they pull me over,i think theyre just like oh yea guy you should so know  better ! and then i get a ticket every time lol
Title: Re: All new members check in.
Post by: Myth on November 10, 2008, 06:00:52 AM
Poor aggieboi, if you get the ticket it means your hair isn't blonde enough and your chacha's are too small...   I grew up in a small town, less than 1000 people and had three city cops plus all the county and state boys that rolled through.  The town is a speed trap.  There are two roads that run through it and it only has one red light.  If you head to the next town up the road, they have less people and probably  around the same number of cops.   These cops will stop for anything and they always wanna search the car.  Doesn't matter who you are, there's too much drug traffic in that little town.  Don't get me wrong, I like cops as long as they're not raging peckerheads.  And I also understand that they are that way cause they put up with some of the shytiest people known to man.  That's enough to make anyone an a-hole.

One thing to remember when dealing with cops, they can always be the bigger a$$hole...

thats true, ive met a few of them in my day! there was one that pulled me over one day for running a stop sign ,but i knew i stopped cause my car rolled backwards and i pulled out stupid slow, becuase my car always scrapped the oil pan pulling out of thats street, and when he handed me the ticket he goes are you having a nice day? i looked at him with that death ray look over the top of my glasses i think he got the point ! but killeen has a population of somthin like 160,000 people and quite a few police officers, just all the ones they have now are rookies,it was like when my dad retired all the ople thatd been there for like 20 30 and 35 years left as well! im not sure thought killeen sucks,im still waiting to see the other zongshen they had next to mine riding around, and i swear the more miles i put on my bike the better it sounds and the better it runs, the gas milage varies from ride to ride but it drives great and way lol.except i made the mistake the other day of trying to ride with a pack of CBR'S and ninjas gsxr's, wow i didnt think a 250 and a 1100 were that far apart, lol big joke ! i mean it was like they twisted that throttle all the way and i came to a stop !!!!!!! but you guys are right the zong does seem to ride better with quick shifts, and at a lower rpm to me ,like out of first shift around 5 or 6 and the same all the way up the power seems to stay constant all the way to about 75,and then of course top end is 85 for now.the first time i tryed to top it out it stopped at like 78 or 79 so its getting better!

29/ m/ Tennessee, '06 250 GS Stationary MotorSculpture in my backyard with 4000 miles, great for small birds, I think an evil gnome lives in my electrical system too....not here to knock Zongshen, but this bike ended up being my personal bane, there's not a hill I haven't found I couldn't push it up, or haven't for that matter.  (I'm like the kid (not Ralphie) at the beginning of the movie Dirt Bike Kid), So...If you live in SE Tennessee or NW Georgia, don't buy from TRADE USA in Ringold they don't know what their doing and they will rip you off.

I've wasted thousands on this bike, looks cool though....glad some of you lucked out with good ones.

Cheers !
