nice trike....
for me if you want more power then just replace the engine with higher displacement maybe 400cc or more since your trike now weighs more than before.

- install in-line fuel filter before the carb
- replace spark plug with platinum or iridium
- check high tension wire for cracks
- try to borrow a cdi just to check its not the cause
- was the carb properly assembled back when you cleaned it?
- drain engine oil and refill at correct level (1.1-1.2L)

nothing on the manual about float height, but if you're just doing some mild maintenance then no need to change stock height unless you messed around with the jets, needle height, intake....etc

here's what i'm referring to, just give it a check...
remove the 2 bolts (encircled yellow) to remove the front sprocket cover

see that thing just below the sprocket with a small screw on the head with a green wire (with red stripe) check if the small connector is disconnected or broken, if its broken you can solder it back
you can verify this by checking the wiring diagram posted earlier, its a light green with red stripe connected to the 'gear switch' leading to the neutral light indicator.....hth

one possible cause.....check those wires beneath the key ignition switch, the ones with connectors (covered with a black rubber boot), remove and reinsert them and make sure all wires are secured properly, those loose wiring could cause no-start symptoms, hth

Sportbikes / Re: Air Valve/ Carburetor Question UPDATED WITH PICS
« on: August 27, 2009, 07:07:28 PM »
yes thats right the small hose on the right goes only to the carb area (encircled yellow on my first pic)
for the bigger hose on the black filter thing (2nd pic) beside the carb, the one on top goes to the left side of the engine (timing chain cover), middle hose goes to airbox area and bottom hose goes to crankcase
so you can eliminate that 'unknown black thing' which might be causing your rev/idle problems because of the open ends...
the underside of my tank also has a hose connection (open end)

connections for pic1 is correct, except that the right hose should be connected to carb intake only encircled yellow

no need to worry about pic2, no end connections for these, just an overflow tube and drain tube with open end

maybe your pic3 thing is just an add-on device i don't have one installed, can you take pics where those 2 hoses lead to (encircled yellow)

check the green wire on the left side of engine, open the small sprocket cover...the green wire going to transmisson could be disconnected

Sportbikes / Re: Engine wont start
« on: June 15, 2009, 10:43:02 AM »
Hi all, got a 2006 250GS and it has been good to me till it didn't want to start anymore. It started out by taking longer to start even with the choke out. Now that its warmer it doesn't start at all. Checked all the noobie mistakes I could make and my own guess would be a weak spark. The low battery light is on when I start it eventhough I fully charged the battery and changed the spark plug. Changing the spark plug made it start up quicker but now the weathers warmer it doesn't start up at all.  I called this scooter shop selling these bikes in Florida(I think) and he told me that it was a common occurance and that he's having a conflict with Zongshen because of it. Any help please? I'm clueless..

does the engine crank but does not fire? or is it only clicking sound from starter relay?
make sure battery is ok, another possible cause of hard starting or no-start at all is your starter motor, the brushes inside could be dirty or worn out, remedy is to clean / replace or fabricate starter brush.
