Sportbikes / Re: cannot shift to 1st ....clutch problem
« on: November 15, 2009, 05:08:43 PM »
Yea I've had the same problems with neutral and first gear. Coming to a stop I just shift it into first and keep the clutch held. From having dropped the bike a couple times, I had an issue with the clutching but it turned out it had shoved the clutch down like a half inch. Might need to check where your clutch is at on the handlebars, if you can, loosen it up and push it up further if at all possible, I try and leave it just a smidge loose so I can shove it back up if needed.

Sportbikes / Re: Spark Plug maybe?
« on: May 29, 2009, 04:55:20 PM »
Yea that is good advice, I'm gonna check that stuff tomorrow  ::) Meh, the bike is running somewhat better having put a new spark plug in it and gapped it correctly, still tries bogging down slightly at 8k RPM's  but nothing like before. Did notice that the air filter was holding a small portion of oil. Thanks greatly again for the advice.

Sportbikes / Spark Plug maybe?
« on: May 26, 2009, 08:20:27 PM »
So while I'm going down the highway, my bike will lose power for a few seconds, if I back out of the throttle it seems to run smoother. Is there a governor on the 250 or an RPM delimiter? As for the RPMs, It's never at the same RPM when it decides to do this and it seems the bike will run all it can run... Lets say that it is not completely broke in yet also. Plus, I've changed out the spark plug with a Champion, it runs better but I'm thinking that it is trying to flood even after getting the new spark plug. Do I gap the spark plug further to maybe fix it or lessen the gap? Or I'm I on the wrong page altogether? Any ideas or help is much apperciated.

Dunno for certain, but I'm sure you could just remove the battery from the bike and take it into any part store (i.e. Autozone, Wal-Mart, etc.) and they could help you match it up to a replacement.

The redrawn diagram you made is so much easier to follow... Much appreciated.  :D

Get a new battery. If the battery is bad enough, even with charging it, it can still not hold a charge. May also try having it on the charger and trying to start it? If that works then well you know.

Speedo problem is fixed...you'll never guess what the issue was.....

The guy I bought the bike from apparently tried to reverse the mileage or just not show as many miles because the speedo cable had been reversed. Thanks for the help again.a

Yea it was a bit loose where it connected to the front wheel. I tightened it back but the speedometer still does not function. As for the oil, does that need to be replenished? Appreciate the help so far :)

Sup,
Names Dusty, just bought a Zongshen, if you couldn't tell, pretty much how I stumbled upon this forums. Live around Plano, Tx do alot of commuting up towards Oklahoma so the bike has been pretty handy so far cept for the lack of a working speedometer. Um, like to ride horses ... and cycles now.  8)
Hope this fits the bill for checking in. Better late then never eh?

Recently bought a used GS250 and the speedometer does not work. Far as I can tell the cable is broke? Tried checking the Zongshen website but was unable to adequately browse their site... Anyone know where to possibly find parts for the speedometer or maybe any adequate alternatives for Zongshens speedometer setup?

P.s. Ive read through most of the threads on here and did not notice any helpful info. on this, if I missed something just slap me on the back of the head plz.   :D
