« on: January 14, 2009, 04:40:19 PM »
ok so my bike got involved in slight accident involving an idiot driver and a deck. i need to find a windsheild, the right panel, the mud guard in between the two front panels and a headlight! does anyone know of any good websites to find these parts,or i would prefer a website that sold parts compatible with our bike that are upgrade or somthing similar!

Sportbikes / Who's got the most miles on their bike?
« on: December 25, 2008, 02:15:38 PM »
i personally have had mine for about 2 months now and have 900 miles on it,ive changed the oil twice, and the plug once. the NGK iridium plug makes a great difference, in power and mileage! after my little vacation im back. its does great on 70 to 100 mile trips putting around back roads and even on the highway, then only real problem i have had a concern with is my speedo cable is broken, and shows the wrong speed constantly!

Hey Namikuz, yea your right , i think the seat is one of the reasons i bought mine, it was the most comfortable seat id sat on all day and it fit like a glove.ive put about 6 or 7 hundred miles on mine in a month so id say im not doin to bad and no problems yet really other than my speedo. but if your intrested in looking into other motors that are a direct bolt on  a guy on here posted a link to a website that had some replacement motors. some are the same as the one our bikes already have and a few are big step ups, they have a 396 cc thats pushin i think it said 100 and somthing horse power and then they have a step up of that that would make the zong a v-twin and still increase the power quite a bit, heres the link you should check it out sometime!!!

Hang Out / Cold Weather Sucks

Cold Weather, what can i say its texas first of all ,so you know the weather changes every ten to twenty minutes.one day here its 75 the perfect riding weather, the next day my day off will be 45 and raining. i hate cold weather down here, and my bike actually almost looks sad that its not moving everyday any more. i finally went and got my class m endorsement on my license and now cant ride it becuase its way to cold for lil ole me to be zoomin down the highway.did the oil change, changed the plug, tightened the chain  all by myself, well with the help of you guys, and just gotta get the chance to mess with the spedo now and it should be good.but i definatley gotta wait for it to warm up a lil before riding again.

ok myth i changed my oil cleaned out the filter screen and put a new plug in it! thanks to those of you who recomended the NGK IRIDIUM PLUG. made a huge difference in the way the bike performs and runs by the way,  i get up to 60 before getting on the highway now , now my only problem is that when i do get on the highway my spedo jumps from like 55 to 90 and then just bounces around inbetween until i slow down to what it says is 65 ,but the other day i went to take the dps road test and on the way home i was doing what the bike said is 70 or 75 and my freind behind me in my dad f-150 said we never got above 55 or 60 ,could that just be a loose spedo cable? where do you adjust or make sure its plugged in right at?

sandstorm is an awesome song,if youve got lime wire just type in techno or trance and it pulls up like a million results ,but most of them are pretty good.i got into techno they have a bunch of older classic rock songs that they remixed to techno that sound pretty cool, that song by bleach sounds pretty good, only thing i dont like is i cant understand what theyre saying lol. hey myth i gotta song you should check it for a laugh if your up for it ,its a rock song, its by "theory of a dead man" and the name of the song is "hate my life" , its a pretty decent song just says some fun things in it , i spend about 17 hours a week in my car/truck ,then 40 + at work and im listening to the radio constantly so i get to hear all the new stuff ! although i dont think this one is so new!!!!!

ok myth i finally got my owners manual in! i think they let a monkey write it though, the only thing its missin is the r turned around back wards. theres a couple of picture in there that are in the wrong place according to the words ,its good for a good laugh but ,hey it does have some good info in it.well i now have about 550 miles on the zong and its still running strong but if the weather dont change i think it might be time to leave it under the cover for a while!one quick question for you though myth or anybody! what is the bare minimum that you can do for the first service, can you get away with just changing the oil and spark plug? or is there more that absolutely needs to be done. the dealership is wanting to charge a bit much i think and ,the more i ride it the more i wanna fix it myself, that and my car is fixing to cost me half of what i payed for my bike soo,i think im gonna give myself a crash course in fixing my own bike!!!!

my bike did somthing similar to me one day, i rode it 45 miles to work, and then on my way home i got stuck in traffic on highway 36,and i had to sit through the red light four times . it was a pretty decent day outside it was about 65 or 70 ,and when the light turned green and i finally got to make it through when i went to let the clutch out it started like chugging! it died about 4 times and the fourth time i got it going i just revved it up high and dumped the clutch and took off, after i got it moving it was like i cooled down and started running fine again. the only thing i could think of for mine since it hasnt done it again is that ,somthing during break in is different and it just gets hot real quick.as far as the battery i know if i leave mine sitting on like,if im talking to somone when i go to start my bike, the battery light starts flashing or if its idiling to low when its cold ,but wal mart sells the 2 amp trickle charger for a motorcycle for i think like $15

Quote from: "Myth"
One thing to remember when dealing with cops, they can always be the bigger a$$hole

thats true, ive met a few of them in my day! there was one that pulled me over one day for running a stop sign ,but i knew i stopped cause my car rolled backwards and i pulled out stupid slow, becuase my car always scrapped the oil pan pulling out of thats street, and when he handed me the ticket he goes are you having a nice day? i looked at him with that death ray look over the top of my glasses i think he got the point ! but killeen has a population of somthin like 160,000 people and quite a few police officers, just all the ones they have now are rookies,it was like when my dad retired all the ople thatd been there for like 20 30 and 35 years left as well! im not sure thought killeen sucks,im still waiting to see the other zongshen they had next to mine riding around, and i swear the more miles i put on my bike the better it sounds and the better it runs, the gas milage varies from ride to ride but it drives great and way lol.except i made the mistake the other day of trying to ride with a pack of CBR'S and ninjas gsxr's, wow i didnt think a 250 and a 1100 were that far apart, lol big joke ! i mean it was like they twisted that throttle all the way and i came to a stop !!!!!!! but you guys are right the zong does seem to ride better with quick shifts, and at a lower rpm to me ,like out of first shift around 5 or 6 and the same all the way up the power seems to stay constant all the way to about 75,and then of course top end is 85 for now.the first time i tryed to top it out it stopped at like 78 or 79 so its getting better!

true the cops around here are pretty bad,i had one follow me the other day i think just becuase i was on a bike that looks fast .it was a school zone and i was doing 20 in a 20 my lights were on of course and it was probably about 1 or 2 oclock in the afternoon,he followed me for about 2 miles so close i couldnt even see his face in the mirror's. which really doesnt say much from hat i understand the mirrors are almost worthless on our bikes , but i can usually see at least the front of a car or somthing ! the crappy part of it is my dad was a police officer here in killeen for 27 years and his brother was a police officer for 33 years so i know all the old school cops around here that have been there forever! No ,to answer the question that probably just ran through your head, they dont let me off if they pull me over,i think theyre just like oh yea guy you should so know  better ! and then i get a ticket every time lol

hey myth ,i just realized you were in the service! okay that makes finding where i live easier for you or it should! do you knopw where fort hood is? killeen is the city that overlaps with fort hood everything in killeen is by and for the soldier and for the most part this is a military town, theres a few of us "low-lifes" still left here that havent joined the service yet ,that are always here to cause trouble .me being one of them lol, we settle for jobs like oh umm say security guards or grill cooks at cracker barrel or somthin like that lol.killeen isnt to bad of a town but its way bigger than it was os say about  15 years ago,the population has just about doubled or tripled since i was a kid! oh and as far as that motorcycle license goes there places down here that for $160 or $190 [ i forget which ] you can take a motorcycle safety course, and with that , it cuts out you having to take the road test from D.P.S.! i lied and told my insurance i had already taken it so i got the discount any way,but i do wanna take it cause i hate driving around with cops behind me  [even thought my dad and uncle were cops for 26 + years lol]!
