I'm doubting it. Currently, there's just a metal grate and a piece of foam sandwiched between two plastic supports for a filter. You could probably make a better filter with stuff you can find in your garage.

Or you can just take off the entire air box and replace it with a conical style air filter?  ;)  I think you just need to measure the diameter of the carburetor air intake and buy a universal K&N filter with that diameter that will fit.

That sounds like a good plan. U just need to reroute the emission controls. Hey who needs emissions anyway! :?

There is an EGR pump under the front fairing of the bike, right by the horn.  It recirculates oil, and unburned fuel that seeps past the valves, feeding it into the airbox.  That is why some folks complain about the filter being soaked in oil.  I had bypassed it, and capped off the tube, but then worried about the oil getting trapped and eventually seizing the valve, so I put it back together.  If you did change the airbox, you would need to either hook this system into the new filter, or cap it off.

Is there an oil filter?  I changed the oil, but all that came out was a screen, which I put right back in.

Oil filter is held inside by a cover with three bolts. This cover is on the top right of the clutch cover. It should be on the right hand side of the bike.

i found a k&n that would fit but with it on (clamped to the carb) the bike runs horribly they have it running so lean from factory there is not enough fuel to compensate for the extra air. only fix is to re jet the carb. I just put the airbox back on and called it a wash.

The only oil filter I saw was the metal screen, which I just cleaned, blew out and put back...  So Gstang, you gonna re-jet or go back to original?

Maybe k&n makes an air filter for the gs 200. But it is nice if you make it really sure about that.

If you did change the airbox, you would need to either hook this system into the new filter, or cap it off.
You could always extend the tube and have it work as a overflow
