new spark plug. found out that when i took the carb off to fix cause i was getting air and elect. had to be gas issue. sand was present in carb. now i cleaned it out with carb cleaner and through some sea foam in the gas tank to clear out anything else i missed. still having an issue getting it started now unless i pop it in 2nd and force it to start. battery new. lead wires all good. would there be something wrong with the engine? would there be anything else i need to check there on after i found the sand grits in the carb. (i fueled when there was a tanker putting gas in the wells of the station):(

Sportbikes / Re: help with throttle cable to carb

as for taking off the carb. make sure your gas is off. take off the black tube that attached to the fuel cut off swtich. unscrew the pipe clamps going from the engine and the air box. now pull on the carb nice and easy. when you have it off, the throttle cable will still be on it. just wiggle the ball at the end of it and it will come off. DONT TOUCH THE SPRING that keeps tension. youll see what i mean. now that you have the carb. unscrew the 4 screws on top of the unit. take it all apart. take carb cleaner spray it all out every opening. and check the jets.  while doing all this take small zip bags and mark on the bag where you got the screws from and remember everything you did to put it all back together. you might as well as your doing this check your gas lines too. check your airbox and add sea foam to your gas tank. very good stuff.

Sportbikes / help with throttle cable to carb
« on: March 07, 2010, 07:11:35 PM »
today i took off the carb to clean out. was just a hunch due to increasingly harder to start bike and when i came to a stop it would stall unless i was on the throttle. well sure enough i got carb off and to what i find was strange.... sand! either when i fulled it when there was a tanker there or previous owner. either way. that was prob my issue. so now using carb cleaner and checking jets. i go to put the throttle cable back on and moved the spring when i took off the in the first place. now when i check usage from the throttle. i turn it and that outer piece connected to the carb goes up. but doesnt back down. i need help. ( i have no past knowledge of how to fix bikes..) a vid or pics would help to tell me where the spring hook us supposed to go on the unit on the carb or maybe i just didnt put it back on right. please any info would be helpful

Sportbikes / shuts off coming to a stop...
« on: September 25, 2009, 10:37:26 PM »
ill ride around my block and not have any issues.. but if i go say about 20 miles of back roads or do highway... when i come to a stop light or come to a stop sign.. shifting down to first it will just shut off. no reason just dies.. (yes im holding in the clutch) extremely hard to restart at the point most of the time i have to put it in 2nd and push to pop it on. other then that if i wait say 2-3 hours i guess (? time frame) has no problem turning over and doesnt stall out at stops.. either its the top speed i get too or maybe the length time that i drive it causes it?

would you be able to post a pic of showing me where i should be looking.. lol im scared to mess with anything i shouldnt be when it comes to the wiring. as far as i can see there is a green wire going from the top down toward the engine into what looks like a black cylinder and on the bottom of it is another wire. is this what your talking about?

search universal mirrors on google.. ive come across a few good mirrors and add ons that can be used for the bike as its still not really known to people here in the states and hard to find performance and custom stuff for our bikes

Sportbikes / Re: Battery Question, need some help
« on: July 18, 2009, 07:06:55 PM »
i right now have a battery issue myself.. i bought one.. got it home... battery dead.. solution? our battery is a 12volt. what we i was told was we need to get a 2v recharger (more then 2 will fry our battery) leave it on for 4 hours before jumping on. if battery doesnt retain charge.. then its time for a new battery. you can get a cheap one for 20-30 buck at sears auto department that says 2v charger on it. also a good idea to just take the battery out when you let it sit too on average you loose about 1% of battery power every day you let it sit. so just at least once a month set it up for a charge.
